We have a draft lease from NYCC, but this cannot be finalised until our business plan is approved.
We have submitted our business plan to NYCC. It will be reviewed by NYCC in September.
If all goes according to plan, Sherburn in Elmet Community Trust will take over the building from 1st December.
We then have to get the building operational by Spring 17, this will be a community initiative, so we need help from trade people and local people who can help with the refurbishment of the building including plastering, electrics, plumbing and decorating.
We are applying for a number of grants to assist with the work as well as having our own fund raising activities. We have been notified that we have been successful in securing our first grant of £5,000.
We are also working with Selby District Council to secure funding for a Community Hub for Sherburn. This funding will be used across both buildings.
